ジェイ 『貝類目録』
John C. Jay (1808-1891) が、Lamarck の分類法によって作成した、当時最新の版貝殻カタログである。10枚のプレートに、きわめて美しく彩色された貝殻の図版が収められている。
Jay は、黒船の Perry が来航した際に採集した貝類の研究を依頼され、1856年に航海報告の一部としてその報告が刊行されたことでも知られる。
